For the first time, Jammu and Kashmir has taken center stage at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, showcasing its diverse landscapes and cultural richness to an international audience. This strategic move underscores the government’s commitment to positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a major hub for the global film industry. The government’s vision includes an ambitious target of attracting Rs 500 crore in investment over the next five years. To realize this goal, a series of initiatives have been introduced to create a conducive environment for filmmakers. One of the key measures is the establishment of a single-window clearance system through online portals, which simplifies the process of obtaining necessary permissions and reduces bureaucratic delays. Dedicated nodal officers have been appointed to assist filmmakers at every step, ensuring a seamless and efficient shooting experience. Additionally, the government is focused on developing local talent by providing extensive training programs.
