Srinagar, January 19,2026- Thanks to the region’s well-equipped cold storages, Kashmir continues to dispatch over 150 truckloads of apples daily to national markets, ensuring consistent supply and maintaining quality during transit. The efficient storage and logistics system have become crucial in sustaining the state’s apple trade and supporting local growers.
Industry experts noted that the robust cold chain infrastructure has enabled growers to maintain freshness, reduce wastage, and explore export opportunities. With discussions underway regarding a potential India–New Zealand trade pact, local apple producers are optimistic about expanding their reach and accessing international markets.
Kashmir’s apple industry remains a major contributor to the state’s economy, highlighting the importance of cold storage facilities in strengthening horticulture, trade, and market competitiveness.
