We are giving training to 10 ladies for the scheme Karkhandar run under the Handicrafts Department in Reasi, Jammu & Kashmir. It has been four months now since ladies of this village have been learning painting. The Karkhandar Scheme is a scheme by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to improve the craft sector. The scheme aims to revive crafts, improve the skills of trainees, and increase the earnings of craftspeople. The Handicrafts Department has given the ladies a platform to fulfill their wihes. I am learning art and craft, it was a six month course. We have already done a four month of study. We have learnt the maximum and now we can make a full painting, etc, said one young lady in Reasi district of Jammu & Kashmir.
