Free e-rickshaw service is being provided to the pilgrims coming back from the Amarnath holy cave. This man from Kanpur has set up a camp at Baltal base to serve Amarnath pilgrims and Baba Bholenath. Every year for three months he leaves his work in Kanpur to do sewa service in Amarnath. Travellers coming down to Baltal can take his e-rickshaw up to Domel and other areas. The e-rickshaw service has been granted permission by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. Tea and breakfast is also being provided free to the pilgrims on their way back. The Kanpur man feels blessed that out of 135 crore Indians, he is one among the few whom Baba has chosen to be in his shelter for two months. A female traveller said that the first time she had come to Amarnath last year was when a cloudburst happened and she had to return. But she did not lose courage. This year she has come again for the 2023 Shri Amarnath yatra. But this year heavy rains started and she was stuck in Chandanwadi base camp for two days. But then the weather cleared and the sun began shining and we were able to do darshan. The service is very good. People are so helpful. In spite of the difficult journey, we feel like coming every year, said the female pilgrim. The e-rickshaw service is providing relief to women as they don’t have to make the long walk back.
