Jammu , June 12,2026 – The Jammu Municipal Corporation has introduced a semi-automated pothole patching machine equipped with advanced “cold mix” technology to carry out faster and more durable road repairs across the city.
The new machine is designed to efficiently fill and permanently repair potholes by using a cold mix material that allows immediate application without the need for extensive heating processes. Officials stated that this technology is expected to improve road maintenance speed, enhance durability of repairs, and reduce traffic disruption during repair work.
The JMC aims to deploy the machine across major roads and high-traffic areas in Jammu, particularly during monsoon and post-winter seasons when road damage is most common. The initiative is part of the civic body’s broader effort to modernize urban infrastructure maintenance and ensure smoother transportation for residents.
Authorities also highlighted that the semi-automated system will reduce manual labour, improve precision in patching work, and extend the lifespan of repaired road surfaces.
The introduction of this technology marks a step toward more scientific and sustainable road maintenance practices in Jammu city.
