JAMMU, AUGUST 23: On the directions of Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation and under the supervision of Joint Commissioner (R\&E), the Enforcement and Revenue Wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted an extensive anti-encroachment drive in the Trikuta Nagar and Channi Himmat areas of Jammu city.
The operation targeted illegal street vendors and seized 12 rehris (handcarts) that were found to be obstructing public footpaths and roads.
The drive was initiated following numerous complaints from residents regarding traffic congestion and pedestrian inconvenience caused by encroachments. The JMC is committed to ensuring the free flow of traffic and safe passage for pedestrians.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation appealed to the public and shopkeepers to cooperate with the administration. The JMC urged them to refrain from encroaching on public spaces and to keep their merchandise within their designated premises. Continued efforts will be made to remove all forms of illegal encroachments to maintain order and cleanliness in the city.
