PULWAMA, JUNE 21: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Friday observed the ‘International Day of Yoga’ at the institute Head office under the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society.’
Employees of the institute enthusiastically participated in the event.
Highlighting the benefits of Yoga, Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma said the primary purpose of observing Yoga Day is to raise public awareness about the benefits of practicing Yoga.
He also emphasized on incorporating Yoga into the daily lifestyle for embracing Yoga’s holistic benefits, fostering a spirit of wellness and unity among participants.
The Director JKEDI demonstrated various Yoga postures (asanas) along with their importance for health like physical fitness, stress reduction, improvement in posture, enhanced respiratory function, better metabolism, pain relief, mental clarity and focus, boost in immunity and emotional as well as professional wellbeing.
“Yoga brings together thought and action to create a harmony between man and nature. It helps in developing a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness within yourself, the world and nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness,” he added.
The Yoga session was conducted by an expert trainer.
