Baramulla, April 22, 2025: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) wrapped up a dynamic six-day Management Development Programme at ITI Baramulla, marking a significant step in the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative. Launched on April 15, 2025, the 30-hour training empowered local entrepreneurs and MSME owners with critical skills to boost their business growth and resilience.
Held at the Industrial Training Institute Baramulla, the programme was kicked off by Principal Javaid Ahmad Ganaie and drew enthusiastic participation from budding entrepreneurs and established business owners. The MDP, facilitated by JKEDI experts and industry professionals, covered key areas like financial management, strategic planning, digital marketing, and market expansion, tailored to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
The RAMP initiative, backed by the World Bank and driven by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, focuses on scaling up MSMEs through skill-building, financial access, and market linkages. This Baramulla MDP is part of JKEDI’s ambitious plan, with similar programmes rolled out across 15 districts, engaging over 300 participants region-wide since mid-April.
“The RAMP-driven MDPs are game-changers for local businesses, equipping them with practical tools to thrive in competitive markets,” said JKEDI Director Khalid Jahangir. “We’re committed to nurturing a vibrant MSME sector that drives economic progress in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Participants lauded the programme’s hands-on workshops, which featured real-world case studies and actionable insights. Running parallel in districts like Anantnag, Kupwara, and Budgam, the initiative ensures entrepreneurs across the Union Territory gain access to world-class training.
Beyond the MDP, JKEDI’s efforts under RAMP include MSME Health Clinics and formalisation campaigns, particularly in Baramulla, to connect local businesses with broader opportunities. This programme reinforces JKEDI’s mission to foster innovation, sustainability, and growth in the region’s entrepreneurial landscape.
