Rajouri, April 1,2026- In a step towards strengthening women-led agriculture, the Agriculture Department organised a training programme for Krishi Sakhis in Rajouri under the Jammu and Kashmir Climate Innovation Programme.
The programme focused on equipping women farmers with knowledge of modern agricultural practices, soil health management, and awareness about various government schemes aimed at improving farm productivity and sustainability.
Officials highlighted that Krishi Sakhis play a crucial role in bridging the gap between scientific farming techniques and grassroots implementation, particularly in rural areas. The training aimed to enhance their capacity to guide fellow farmers in adopting innovative and climate-resilient practices.
Participants were sensitized about soil testing, balanced use of fertilizers, crop diversification, and efficient water management. Experts also shared insights on leveraging government initiatives to boost income and ensure long-term sustainability.
The initiative reflects the administration’s continued focus on empowering rural women, promoting sustainable agriculture, and strengthening community-based extension services in Jammu and Kashmir.
