J&K: Tral Girl Starts Her Own Tailoring Boutique with ‘Yuva Mission’ Support I started this work last year, said Ashrat a boutique owner in Tral, Jammu & Kashmir. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Commerce. Due to financial iissues at home I started learning tailoring work, said Ashrat. I grasped the tailoring craft a littile then joined another place to learn more about it and gained a certificate. Then I started my own tailoring boutique. Now it is two years since I have started this boutique. In the beginning I did not have much financial resources. Then I heard about ‘Yuva Mission’ and I researched about it and applied for a loan. Then I got the loan from the Government, said Ashrat. At my boutique, we stitch everything for ladies from simple suits to designer wears. We provide all types of services to our customers. Females can talk to us with ease for fitting issues. The same cannot happen with male tailors and we can’t connect well with them and there are some things which we cannot tell them, said Ashrat. It is not necessary that every girl should be a doctor, teacher or engineer. And it is not necessary that every girl goes in the government sector. If we girls do business or entrepreneurship, what will happen is that we can also provide employment to others. More people can also join us and their homes will also run through it. Our basic motivation for education is to get a job tomorrow. Due to some girls’ education, their age advances and their marriage gets delayed. Suppose somebody does a PhD but it does not guarantee a job after studying that much, only our financial burden increases, Ashrat pointed out. I would like to express my gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha who has started these schemes for women in J&K where we can start our employment and also provide employment to people and earn our name in the society. I am a female and no matter how much knowledge I have, I feel that without the help of the government, I would not have been able to start such a unit. Unless we were given the benefit of this scheme, it would have been difficult for us to even set up a unit of four people. I would like to tell the males and females of Tral who want to do somthing in life and who want to avoid financial burdens to just be aware of the various government schemes. These schemes are there for your benefit, said Tral’s female boutique owner.
