Kashmir, December 6,2025: Jammu & Kashmir Tourism was honoured with the Eco-Tourism Hotspot Award at the ongoing India International Travel Mart 2025 in Hyderabad. The recognition highlights the Union Territory’s efforts to promote sustainable and responsible tourism while preserving its natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Officials from the J&K Tourism Department participated in the two-day event, showcasing the UT’s diverse offerings including eco-friendly stays, adventure tourism, heritage sites, and rural tourism initiatives. The award reflects the region’s commitment to environmentally sustainable tourism practices and its appeal as a green destination for domestic and international travellers.
The accolade also reinforces J&K’s strategy of integrating eco-tourism with community involvement, empowering local communities, and promoting responsible travel. Tourism officials stated that the recognition will further motivate efforts to expand eco-tourism infrastructure across scenic locations in the UT.
