Srinagar , January 13,2026-Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as the top-performing region in the country in terms of patriotic outreach during Phase-I of the Vande Mataram 150 celebrations, marking the 150th anniversary of the iconic national song. Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo reviewed the preparations for Phase-II of the celebrations, scheduled to be held from January 19 to January 26, and commended the districts for their exceptional performance at the national level.
During the review meeting, the Chief Secretary lauded the extensive public engagement, innovative outreach activities, and enthusiastic participation witnessed across the Union Territory in Phase-I. He noted that J&K’s efforts stood out nationwide for effectively promoting patriotic spirit and national unity through cultural, educational, and community-based programmes.
Atal Dulloo urged all districts to sustain the momentum during Phase-II by ensuring wider public participation, with special emphasis on youth involvement, educational institutions, and community organisations. He stressed that activities should be inclusive, well-coordinated, and aligned with the broader objective of strengthening national pride and awareness of India’s freedom struggle.
The upcoming Phase-II celebrations, coinciding with the run-up to Republic Day, will feature a range of activities including patriotic events, awareness programmes, cultural performances, and citizen-led initiatives across urban and rural areas. The administration reiterated its commitment to making the Vande Mataram 150 campaign a mass movement reflecting the unity, diversity, and patriotic spirit of Jammu and Kashmir.
