Kashmir, November 24,2025: The Jammu & Kashmir Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 came alive with vibrant celebrations as it marked Jammu & Kashmir Day with cultural splendour, artisan pride and entrepreneurial energy.
The event witnessed an impressive gathering of dignitaries, senior officials, artisans, and visitors, all celebrating the Union Territory’s rich cultural heritage and its emerging economic strengths. Enthralling cultural performances—featuring traditional Dogri and Kashmiri folk dances and songs—captured the diversity, colour and spirit of J&K.
During the inaugural address, Sudershan Kumar, Managing Director JKTPO, highlighted Jammu & Kashmir’s unique blend of cultural richness and economic potential. He lauded the dedication of local artisans and entrepreneurs whose craftsmanship and innovation continue to elevate the UT’s presence on the global stage.
He emphasised that the J&K Pavilion stands as a symbol of authentic artistry, offering visitors a wide array of treasures—from world-renowned handicrafts and premium handlooms to exceptional agricultural and horticultural products.
Imran Mehmood, FA/CAO JKTPO, underlined the region’s breathtaking landscapes, rich traditions, and warm hospitality. He encouraged tourists, investors and business partners to explore the opportunities that Jammu & Kashmir offers, noting that the UT is transforming into a vibrant investment and tourism destination.
This year’s Pavilion witnessed a remarkable leap in participation, with over 140 exhibitors, including women entrepreneurs, specially-abled business owners and cooperative societies. This sharp rise—from just 30 exhibitors in earlier editions—reflects the growing confidence, ambition and market readiness among J&K’s entrepreneurial community.
Visitors explored an impressive variety of products such as GI-tagged saffron, Pashmina shawls, Kani shawls, Sozni embroidery, Basholi paintings, Kashmiri carpets, and exquisite Paper Mache crafts—all representing the region’s unparalleled legacy in arts and crafts.
The JKTPO extended gratitude to all stakeholders, reaffirming its commitment to empowering local talent, creating new market avenues, and showcasing Jammu & Kashmir’s finest craftsmanship on national and international platforms.
The celebration concluded with a vibrant tribute to Jammu & Kashmir’s cultural roots and forward-looking entrepreneurial aspirations—an inspiring blend of tradition and modernity.
