Kashmir, December 2,2025 — Jammu & Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today chaired a detailed review meeting of the Agriculture Production Department (APD) to assess the modalities of a comprehensive plan aimed at significantly enhancing milk production, processing, and value-addition across the Union Territory.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasised the need for a well-structured strategy, supported by robust infrastructure, modern dairy technology, and efficient value chains, to ensure sustainable growth in the dairy sector. He noted that improved supply chains and upgraded processing units would help achieve substantial progress and unlock new opportunities for dairy farmers across J&K.
Officials presented progress on ongoing initiatives, including expansion of dairy infrastructure, establishment of modern milk processing facilities, and integration of value-addition units to strengthen the regional dairy ecosystem. The plan also focuses on improving breed quality, farmer training, and establishing stronger market linkages.
Dulloo reiterated that a coordinated and technology-driven approach would not only increase milk productivity but also ensure maximum financial benefits for dairy farmers in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. He directed the concerned departments to finalize operational frameworks and expedite execution for faster outcomes.
The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Agriculture Production Department, Animal Husbandry, and other allied sectors.
