Kashmir , December 9,2025-The Jammu and Kashmir Meteorological Department has forecast dry weather conditions across the Union Territory for the next 10 days, offering residents a brief respite from recent spells of precipitation. However, despite clear skies, temperatures continue to plunge across the region.
According to the MeT, several places in the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh are witnessing sub-zero temperatures, with early morning and late-night hours remaining exceptionally cold. The persistent chill is attributed to the absence of cloud cover, which typically helps retain some warmth during the night.
Residents in higher reaches of Kashmir, including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Kupwara, and Gurez, continue to experience harsh winter conditions, while areas in Ladakh—such as Leh and Kargil—are recording some of the lowest temperatures in the region.
Authorities have advised people to take necessary precautions as cold wave conditions are expected to persist despite the stable weather pattern.
