Srinagar, May 12, 2026- Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs said that Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing positive and revolutionary changes after the abrogation of Article 370, with significant improvements visible in development, governance, tourism, and public welfare sectors.
Speaking during an interaction with officials and stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir, the Head of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs stated that the Union Territory has entered a new phase of growth and stability, driven by better governance, enhanced infrastructure, and increased public participation in developmental initiatives.
He said the transformation taking place across Jammu and Kashmir reflects the success of policies aimed at ensuring peace, prosperity, and equal opportunities for the people. The committee appreciated the efforts being made in sectors such as road connectivity, education, healthcare, tourism, youth empowerment, and investment promotion.
The PSC Head noted that youth in Jammu and Kashmir are now receiving greater opportunities in education, entrepreneurship, sports, and employment, which is helping channel their energy towards nation-building and innovation.
Highlighting the tourism sector, he said the record tourist influx witnessed in recent years reflects growing confidence and improving security conditions in the Union Territory. He added that the government’s focus on grassroots democracy and public welfare schemes has accelerated socio-economic progress in both urban and rural areas.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs also reviewed ongoing developmental projects and interacted with senior officials regarding administrative functioning, security measures, and implementation of central welfare schemes.
Officials informed the committee about several initiatives being undertaken to strengthen infrastructure, boost employment generation, and improve public services across Jammu and Kashmir.
The PSC delegation reiterated its commitment to supporting measures that ensure long-term peace, inclusive development, and sustained economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
