J&K Residents get FREE Sewing Machines and Solar Lights from the Indian Army. Indian Army’s 4 Rashtriya Rifles distributes solar lights, sewing machines, wheelchairs and hearing aids among the people of Jammu & Kashmir with special needs. A J&K woman said she got a sewing machine now she can stitch clothes and contribute to running the household. Earlier there was peace in this region. People had gas for cooking food, there was electricity in the region, and roads were built. But last year there was some disturbance. They tried to obstruct the progress of the region. These elements were curbed by the Indian Army. We got solar lights because there was no electricity in the nights. Our children can study in the solar lights. This is a benefitting step for us, said one villager in Jammu & Kashmir.
