J&K; Rajouri Packing Unit Empowers Widows & Rural Women with Livelihood Our sisters here do packing of sugar. We have given them a livelihood. We have given this work to women who were from far away places, who were widows and who did not have work, said a woman from Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri district running a sugar packing unit. These women do not have to go to the marketplace to sell nor they have to fetch materials. All the things are provided here. They spend one or two hours on the task and they do the work well, it is not a difficult job, it is a very easy job. The monthly income that they earn is 2000-3000 rupees, which we give it to them. In the coming time, leaves will be packed here, oil will be packed, after that cashews will come and walnuts will come, even before this these women have been working here, our spice unit is running in which we pack turmeric, chilli, coriander powder, these ladies work in it. In the coming time, up to 40-50 ladies will work here. This is a very good scheme by Modi ji. Modi ji has given these schemes which are reaching our ladies. There are ladies from far-flung villages. When they go from here, they make others aware that there is a centre here in Rajouri,ask them to come and work.
