J&K poor availing 10 kg extra rice at subsidised rates through PM’s scheme for Priority Households

The Prime Minister’s Food Supplementation for Priority Households has been started in Jammu & Kashmir, informed the Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha. Under Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojana, apart from the monthly free ration, priority households will get a maximum of 10 kg of rice at subsidised rates. This announcement from the LG office is a welcome step, said residents. In Kashmir a greater consumption is of rice than wheat flour. In future if there is enhancement on it, it will be all the more better, said residents. We must appreciate this step. The people of Kashmir mostly eat rice only. This will solve the problems of common people, said another resident. The residents showed their concern that the distribution method should be monitored by the government to see whether the priority households are getting rice or not. Whatever step is going on is going well, said the residents in Kashmir.
