Srinagar, October 11, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday hailed the Jammu & Kashmir Police as a pivotal force in the Union Territory’s transformation, stating that beyond combating terrorism and upholding law and order, it serves as a crucial agent of socio-economic development. Addressing athletes at the inaugural ceremony of the 10th All India Police Judo Cluster (Men & Women) 2025, LG Sinha emphasized how the force’s relentless efforts have fostered peace and stability, paving the way for industrial growth, prosperity, and inclusive progress across J&K. Hosted by the J&K Police at a prominent venue in Srinagar, the multi-disciplinary championship features over 2,000 athletes competing in Judo, Wushu, Pencak Silat, Taekwondo, and Karate, celebrating India’s unity in diversity through sportsmanship and cultural exchange. LG Sinha commended the synergy between J&K Police, the Indian Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) for dismantling terror networks, thwarting cross-border infiltrations, and eradicating the roots of left-wing extremism nationwide. “Terrorism is breathing its last in J&K. This peace has ushered in unparalleled progress, bringing greater prosperity to people’s lives and enabling a new era of rapid economic growth,” he remarked, highlighting improved security as the bedrock of development.
The LG praised the J&K Police for creating a fear-free environment that empowers citizens and youth, urging the younger generation to channel their compassion, courage, and talents into nation-building. “Sports is the universal language of unity, promoting inclusivity, mutual respect, and character building. Events like this showcase our rich heritage and foster camaraderie across regions,” Sinha added, calling for sustained multifaceted approaches to internal security challenges. The event was attended by DGP Nalin Prabhat, Special DG Coordination S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP Armed Anand Jain, senior police and civil officials, sports association representatives, prominent personalities, and a large gathering of youth. As J&K continues its journey from violence to vibrancy, LG Sinha reiterated the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, economic opportunities, and social cohesion, with the police at the forefront of this socio-economic renaissance.
