J&K police boosts youth power with skiing and more

Baramulla, February 28, 2025 – The J&K Police are stepping up efforts to shape the future of the region’s youth and children, organising a series of programs and events aimed at building their personalities and strengthening society. Deputy Inspector General of Baramulla, Gurinderpal Singh, highlighted this mission, pointing to a recent skiing program as a key part of the vision.

“Our goal is to empower the youth and kids, helping them grow into confident individuals who contribute to our community,” Singh said. The skiing initiative, held in Gulmarg on February 27, saw young participants hit the slopes in a one-day competition, blending fun with skill-building.

This isn’t a one-off. The J&K Police have been rolling out activities across districts, from sports to workshops, all designed to inspire and uplift. The skiing program aligns with this broader push, tapping into Kashmir’s winter appeal to engage kids in positive outlets. “It’s about more than just sports—it’s about character and connection,” Singh added.

The timing feels right, with fresh snowfall blanketing Kashmir this week, turning places like Gulmarg into a perfect stage for such events. With security tight after recent incidents in Rajouri, these programs also signal a focus on peace and progress.

As J&K Police keep the momentum going, the message is clear: invest in the young, and the future shines brighter. More events are in the pipeline.
