Jammu December 19,2025-Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday inaugurated its first Gen Z Post Office at AIIMS Vijaypur, marking a major step towards delivering youth-centric and technology-enabled postal services in the Union Territory.
With this launch, AIIMS Vijaypur has become the first AIIMS in India to host a Gen Z Post Office, setting a national benchmark in the modernisation of postal infrastructure. The initiative is aimed at engaging the younger generation through digital-first services, simplified processes, and a contemporary service environment.
Officials said the Gen Z Post Office integrates smart technology, online services, and digital payment systems, making postal services faster, more accessible, and user-friendly. In addition to traditional mail services, the facility will offer financial, e-commerce, and select government services tailored to the needs of students, healthcare professionals, and young users.
Located within the AIIMS campus, the post office is expected to benefit students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors, while also serving as a model for similar youth-focused postal facilities across the country. The initiative aligns with India Post’s broader vision of digital transformation and service innovation.
Authorities described the launch as a significant milestone in public service delivery reform, highlighting the evolving role of India Post in the digital era and its commitment to remaining relevant for future generations.
