Kashmir,January 7,2026-In a major step towards strengthening workforce development in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo has finalised a five-year roadmap to transform the skilling ecosystem across the Union Territory. The initiative aims to make the youth future-ready and employable by aligning skill development with industry requirements.
The roadmap focuses on industry-aligned skilling, fostering strong academia–industry linkages, promoting lifelong learning, and ensuring inclusive growth to build a resilient and competent workforce. Officials said the strategy is designed to address evolving market demands and create sustainable employment opportunities for the youth of J&K.
“This roadmap is a step forward in equipping our young population with the right skills to succeed in the modern workforce. By connecting education, training, and industry needs, we aim to make youth employment-ready and globally competitive,” said Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo.
The plan also emphasises continuous learning and upskilling, encouraging innovative training methods and digital skill acquisition to meet the dynamic demands of various sectors. Experts believe that the roadmap will significantly strengthen J&K’s skill development framework, attract investments, and enhance the region’s economic growth.
Officials highlighted that the roadmap is inclusive in nature, targeting underrepresented groups and ensuring equitable access to skilling opportunities, thereby contributing to holistic socio-economic development of the Union Territory.
