JAMMU, April 13, 2025 – On the occasion of Rajouri Day, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led a solemn tribute to the Indian Army Bravehearts and civilians who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Rajouri on April 13, 1948. Speaking at a commemorative event organised by the Indian Army’s Ace of Spades Division at ALG Rajouri, Sinha emphasised the urgent need for unified efforts to combat the terrorism ecosystem threatening peace in the region.
The event marked the historic recapture of Rajouri from Pakistani forces and rebels after six months of occupation in 1948, a period Sinha described as a “black era” in India’s history. Paying homage to heroes like Lieutenant Ram Raghoba Rane and Brigadier Mohammad Usman, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted their courage and sacrifice, noting that their legacy continues to inspire generations. “This land of Rajouri is a witness to the resolve of our Bravehearts’ minds and the perfection of their action,” Sinha said, underscoring the enduring impact of their valour.
Manoj Sinha called for collective action to neutralise terrorism, urging citizens, the Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces, and Jammu and Kashmir Police to work together to eliminate terrorists and their sympathisers. “Our collective strength will successfully neutralize terrorism and enemy threats, paving the way for peace and development,” he stated. He also stressed the importance of isolating divisive forces to preserve the region’s hard-won stability.
The ceremony featured floral tributes at the martyrs’ memorial, a special postal cover release commemorating 77 years of Rajouri’s liberation, and vibrant displays of cultural pageantry and motorcycle acrobatics by security forces, showcasing their prowess.
Manoj Sinha reiterated the administration’s dedication to peace and progress, warning that enemies continue to push terrorists across the border to disrupt stability. “The supreme courage and gallantry of our soldiers will be remembered forever,” he affirmed, calling Rajouri Day an occasion to imbibe the values of those who protected the nation.
