JAMMU, FEBRUARY 01: Hon’ble Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha has lauded the Union Budget for 2025-2026, presented by the Hon’ble Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament
In a post shared on X, the Lieutenant Governor expressed his appreciation, stating:
“My sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman Ji for presenting a pragmatic and visionary Budget for a Viksit Bharat. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for placing the Indian economy on a fast track, with bold development initiatives aimed at uplifting the poor, youth, farmers, and women.
This Budget provides a significant boost to the middle class. The revised tax rate structure marks a historic shift that promises to bring transformative change in the lives of millions. Furthermore, the Prime Minister’s decision to raise the TDS limit on rent, enhance social security measures, and formalise the gig economy provides much-needed relief to taxpayers.
The 2025-26 Budget reflects India’s growing aspirations for accelerated growth and its commitment to stimulating private sector investments. The focus on agricultural growth through initiatives like the Agri District Programme underscores the vision for rural prosperity and social equity.
As the world’s fastest-growing major economy, India is poised for even greater achievements. This Budget will further strengthen key sectors such as infrastructure, MSMEs, energy, and innovation, while fostering employment generation and driving transformative reforms for more inclusive and sustainable growth.”
