This participative Jan-Abhiyan promotes people-centric development for social transformation and focuses on improving the productivity of the rural J&K through increased ease of living.

People’s participation in development of border villages is significant for social advancement & unleashing the spirit of self-reliance. Back to Village provides an opportunity for effective planning, roadmap for execution with PRIs to fulfil the dreams of Gram Swaraj.

Border villages are our strategic asset and its development is essential precondition to build an inclusive society where there would be no discrimination and everyone enjoys equal share of opportunity.

Under the programme, the entire administrative apparatus of the state government is going to visit all the 4483 Panchayat halqas to get the grassroots level feedback from general public.

The government has deployed one gazetted officer as nodal officer in each panchayat halqa, who will interact with panchayat members, general public to get the general feedback.

The programme is primarily aimed at directing development efforts in rural areas through community participation and to create in the rural masses an earnest desire for decent standard of living.
