J&K LG Manoj Sinha meets Army Goodwill School Poonch students on integration tour

Jammu, March 27,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today interacted with a group of students from Army Goodwill School (AGS), Saujiyan, Poonch, who are currently on an educational visit to Jammu as part of the Jammu and Kashmir Integration Tour under Operation Sadbhavana.

The initiative, organised by the White Knight Corps as part of its outreach programme, aims to promote national integration, youth empowerment, and the holistic development of children from remote and border areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor appreciated the Indian Army’s sustained efforts in shaping the future of youth in border regions. He lauded the commitment of Indian Army towards education, exposure, and welfare of young minds, stating that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

The visiting contingent comprised 33 students, accompanied by their teachers and Army personnel. The students shared their experiences and learnings from the tour, expressing enthusiasm and gratitude for the opportunity to explore new places and gain broader exposure.

The primary objective of the integration tour is to provide children from far-flung villages with firsthand exposure to the country’s cultural diversity, social fabric, and institutional framework, thereby enhancing their confidence and sense of belonging.

As part of the itinerary, the students visited key locations including Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu, and Srinagar. The tour exposed them to diverse environments and institutional setups.

Notably, the tour included several first-time experiences for many students, such as rail travel to Srinagar, visits to shopping complexes, and interaction with defence establishments including the Air Force Station Jammu. These experiences offered valuable insights into urban life and the functioning of the armed forces, significantly broadening the students’ outlook.

The programme underscores the continued efforts to bridge the gap between remote border regions and mainstream development, empowering youth through exposure, education, and engagement.
