Kashmir, June 17, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha unveiled ‘Reimagining Jammu & Kashmir,’ a visually stunning coffee table book by photojournalist Ashish Sharma, at a prestigious ceremony in New Delhi. The book chronicles the remarkable transformation of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) since the historic abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, offering a vivid portrayal of the region’s resurgence as India’s ‘Paradise on Earth’ through Sharma’s lens.
Speaking at the launch, LG Sinha lauded Sharma’s work, stating, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, J&K has reclaimed its identity post-2019. This book is a powerful document of that journey, capturing progress through breathtaking photographs.” The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that coffee table books like this serve as timeless records, showcasing J&K’s strides in infrastructure, economic growth, and social inclusion.
The book highlights two pivotal dates in J&K’s history: August 5, 2019, when the abrogation of Article 370 marked the region’s full integration with India, and June 6, which symbolically connected Kashmir to Kanyakumari, aligning J&K’s aspirations with the national mainstream. “J&K is on the move, and Ashish’s camera beautifully captures this momentum,” Sinha remarked.
Over the past five years, J&K has witnessed unprecedented development. Infrastructure has transformed at a rapid pace, with enhanced connectivity and modern amenities reshaping the region. The economy has flourished, driven by robust growth in industry, startups, and agriculture. “Our youth are thriving as entrepreneurs, with nearly one million seizing self-employment opportunities in just four years,” Sinha noted, underscoring the inclusive progress that ensures no community is left behind.

Sharma’s ‘Reimagining Jammu & Kashmir’ is more than a collection of photographs; it is a narrative of hope and renewal. Each image reflects the region’s revitalized landscapes, vibrant culture, and dynamic economy, resonating with the sentiment shared on X, where users hailed the book as a tribute to J&K’s inspiring evolution.
The launch, hosted at IGNCA, New Delhi, was attended by notable figures, including Former Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, and celebrated J&K’s journey toward prosperity and unity under PM Modi’s leadership.
