Srinagar, March 26, 2025 – Shri Manoj Sinha, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted the pivotal role that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises play in driving job creation, fostering competition, and ensuring efficient public service delivery. In a recent address, Sinha emphasised that MSMEs are the backbone of the region’s economy and are crucial in empowering local communities and providing employment opportunities.
Drawing inspiration from the economic models of Switzerland and Germany, which have successfully integrated MSMEs into their national economic framework, Sinha noted that J&K is on a similar path of fostering self-reliance. The region, he said, is increasingly adopting digital technologies to streamline business processes, ensuring MSMEs remain competitive in both national and global markets.
“Innovative digital solutions are transforming our approach to business operations. MSMEs in J&K have the potential to thrive by embracing technology, which will enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and open new markets,” said Sinha. He also praised the ongoing initiatives by the government to create a conducive environment for MSMEs, including easier access to finance, simplified regulatory processes, and dedicated support for digital adoption.
In addition to economic benefits, MSMEs are instrumental in improving public service delivery. With their growing presence across various sectors, they have the capacity to help the government meet its goals of efficient service provision while generating employment.
