JAMMU, October 13, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha chaired the 36th meeting of the Executive Council of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University at Raj Bhawan , focusing on key academic and administrative advancements for the institution.The meeting was attended by prominent figures including Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU; Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of Jammu University; Prof. A.S.K. Sinha, Director of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Amethi; Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director of IIT Jammu; Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor; Shri Sachin Kumar Vaishya, CEO of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB); Shri Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar of SMVDU; and other council members.Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar presented various agenda items for approval and ratification, covering critical areas such as faculty promotions, non-teaching staff advancements, student enrollment strategies, campus placements, outreach programs, innovation and startup initiatives, research endeavors, and skill development training.
Discussions also included progress on ongoing construction projects and enhancements to the university’s Technology Business Incubation Centre.The Executive Council emphasized SMVDU’s role in promoting quality education, research, and community engagement in the region, aligning with broader goals of socio-economic empowerment and institutional excellence. This session builds on previous meetings, reinforcing the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and holistic student development.
