SRINAGAR, September 11, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for ‘Sewa Parv,’ a public service initiative set to take place across Jammu and Kashmir from September 17 to October 2, 2025. The meeting, attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, senior officials, and stakeholder department heads, focused on promoting public service, community participation, and inclusive governance.The Lieutenant Governor emphasized outcome-driven activities aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Jammu Kashmir. He directed departments to address gaps in flagship scheme coverage, ensure saturation, and establish daily monitoring mechanisms at district, division, and department levels. Key activities include drug de-addiction campaigns, disaster management awareness, grievance redressal camps, and initiatives promoting personal hygiene, environmental action, and welfare for the elderly, poor, and specially-abled.
LG Manoj Sinha called for realistic targets, monitored via a dedicated digital portal, and stressed educating students on civic responsibilities through platforms like Youth Parliament. Debate and essay competitions on Mahatma Gandhi were also proposed to align with Sewa Parv’s guiding principles of public service and inclusive development.The initiative will feature cleanliness drives, education-focused programs, health and nutrition campaigns, and cultural activities, with a special focus on the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, emphasizing women’s health and empowerment. A dedicated online portal will ensure seamless coordination and transparent reporting throughout the event.
