Pahalgam, June 25,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting at Pahalgam Club to assess the preparedness and arrangements for the forthcoming annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The meeting was attended by senior civil, police, security, and departmental officials who presented detailed updates on various aspects of the pilgrimage, including security measures, accommodation facilities, transportation, healthcare services, sanitation, communication networks, emergency response mechanisms, and overall pilgrim welfare.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor reviewed the progress of infrastructure works and directed officials to ensure seamless coordination among all departments for the smooth conduct of the yatra. He emphasized that the safety, security, and convenience of pilgrims should remain the top priority.
The officials briefed the Lieutenant Governor on arrangements being made along the Pahalgam route, including deployment of medical teams, establishment of help centres, availability of essential supplies, and preparedness for weather-related contingencies. Special focus was also laid on maintaining cleanliness, traffic management, and strengthening communication facilities for pilgrims.
The Lieutenant Governor stressed the importance of efficient service delivery and directed concerned departments to address any gaps well before the commencement of the pilgrimage. He also reviewed disaster management preparedness and emergency response plans to ensure a safe and hassle-free experience for devotees.
The annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra attracts thousands of pilgrims from across the country and is one of the most significant religious pilgrimages in Jammu and Kashmir.
