Srinagar, October 11, 2025 – In a solemn ceremony at the 15 Corps headquarters in Srinagar, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday laid wreaths and paid heartfelt tributes to two elite Indian Army para special forces personnel, Lance Havildar Palash Ghosh and Lance Naik Sujay Ghosh, who tragically lost their lives during a high-altitude counter-terror operation in the Kishtwar Range of Kokernag, South Kashmir. The bravehearts made the supreme sacrifice while battling extreme weather conditions and rugged terrain in pursuit of terrorists, highlighting the unyielding commitment of the armed forces to national security.The operation, launched earlier this week following credible intelligence inputs about terrorist movements in the forested, high-reach areas of Kokernag, involved exhaustive searches with helicopters, drones, and sniffer dogs. The soldiers went missing amid inclement weather on October 8, and their bodies were recovered two days later, along with their personal weapons and gear intact, underscoring their dedication even in the face of peril.
