Jammu, December 16,2025:Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha on Monday paid heartfelt tributes to the brave soldiers and martyrs of the 1971 India-Pakistan War on the occasion of Vijay Diwas, remembering their supreme sacrifice and unparalleled valour that led India to a historic victory.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor said that the courage, heroism and unwavering commitment of the armed forces during the 1971 War safeguarded the nation’s sovereignty and upheld its honour. He emphasized that the decisive victory achieved by India stands as a shining testament to the bravery and dedication of the Indian Armed Forces.
“On Vijay Diwas, I pay my tributes to the brave heroes and martyrs of the 1971 War. Their supreme sacrifice, magnificent heroism and unwavering commitment to the motherland led India to a decisive victory. The nation will remain forever grateful for their service and sacrifice,” LG Manoj Sinha said.
The Lieutenant Governor said Vijay Diwas serves as a reminder of the indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces and inspires future generations to uphold the values of courage, patriotism and selfless service to the nation.
Vijay Diwas is observed every year on December 16 to commemorate India’s victory in the 1971 War, which led to the liberation of Bangladesh and marked one of the most significant military triumphs in India’s history.
