Poonch,May 21, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the revered Gurudwara Nangali Sahib in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday, where he offered prayers and interacted with devotees. The visit underscores his commitment to promoting communal harmony and spiritual outreach in the region, particularly in the wake of recent cross-border tensions.
The Gurudwara Nangali Sahib, a significant Sikh religious site, was recently targeted during Pakistani shelling on May 7, 2025, which caused significant damage and loss of life in Poonch. LG Manoj Sinha’s visit comes as a gesture of solidarity with the local Sikh community and a step toward restoring peace and normalcy in the border district.
During his visit, LG Manoj Sinha addressed devotees, emphasizing unity and resilience amid challenging times. He also met with Indian Army soldiers and Border Security Force personnel at the Poonch Brigade headquarters, acknowledging their efforts in maintaining security along the Line of Control .
