Srinagar, April 2, 2025 – Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha met with Shri Wajahat Farooq Bhat, Chairman of the Save Youth Save Future Foundation, and Shri Mudasir Dar, Zonal President of the foundation, at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar today to discuss transformative initiatives aimed at empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. The conversation focused on advancing skill development, establishing a Youth Facilitation Centre, and expanding drug de-addiction and vocational training programs to create opportunities for the region’s young population.
Shri Bhat outlined the foundation’s efforts to enhance skill development programs designed to equip youth with practical expertise aligned with modern industry needs. These initiatives aim to foster sustainable livelihoods and enable young individuals to contribute to the socio-economic growth of Jammu and Kashmir. He also presented a proposal for a Youth Facilitation Centre, envisioned as a comprehensive hub offering career counselling, skill enhancement workshops, and entrepreneurship guidance to nurture innovation and self-reliance among the youth.
The discussion also addressed the foundation’s commitment to tackling substance abuse through expanded drug de-addiction programs. Shri Bhat emphasised the importance of awareness campaigns, counselling, and rehabilitation services to support young people struggling with addiction. By integrating vocational training into these efforts, the foundation seeks to provide at-risk youth with alternative pathways to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society. Plans to broaden vocational training programs were also highlighted, with a focus on equipping young individuals with hands-on skills for meaningful careers.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha praised the Save Youth Save Future Foundation for its dedicated work in youth empowerment and social reform. He assured Shri Bhat and Shri Dar of the administration’s support for initiatives that address critical challenges and create an enabling environment for young people to thrive.
