Jammu , January 24,2026-: Jammu’s Lok Bhavan hosted grand celebrations on Saturday to mark Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day, attended by Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, who extended his heartiest greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the gathering, LG Sinha paid tribute to the state’s luminaries, freedom fighters, and revolutionaries, acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping modern India.
“Literary figures have identified ancient Uttar Pradesh as India’s heartland—the cradle of major scriptures including the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas. To me, Uttar Pradesh represents a wellspring that has nurtured the country’s cultural consciousness,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the region’s spiritual and cultural significance: “Words fall short in capturing Uttar Pradesh’s richness; it must be felt and lived. This is where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet—a sacred junction with millennia of history. It serves as a spiritual center offering timeless wisdom and stands as a place of devotion that stirs global consciousness through its cultural and literary heritage.”
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s broader contributions to India’s identity, LG Sinha remarked, “The spiritual luminaries of this region gifted us an invaluable teaching: the ultimate quest is to understand oneself. The most profound journey we can undertake is the inward one, a wisdom that guides us in navigating our rapidly changing world.”
The LG also praised the state’s development trajectory, expressing hope for continued prosperity and greater economic milestones in the coming years.
The cultural evening saw participation from Shri Anoop Pradhan, Member of Parliament from Hathras, along with senior government officials, students, and residents of Uttar Pradesh living in Jammu and Kashmir.
