Srinagar, April 24, 2025: In a decisive move to address the escalating security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha presided over a high-level security review meeting at Raj Bhavan, Srinagar, on Wednesday. The meeting, held in response to the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, brought together key officials, including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir Police, and senior representatives from the civil administration and police.

The agenda focused on evaluating the current security framework and devising robust strategies to counter terrorism in the Union Territory. Discussions emphasized strengthening intelligence networks, enhancing coordination between agencies, and ensuring swift responses to potential threats. The Pahalgam attack, which left several tourists injured, has heightened the urgency for proactive measures to safeguard residents and visitors alike.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stressed the administration’s unwavering resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace across Jammu and Kashmir. He directed officials to intensify operations in high-risk areas, including Kulgam and Baramulla, where recent encounters with militants have been reported. The meeting also reviewed the implementation of advanced surveillance technologies and community engagement programs to bolster security.

The participation of top officials, both in-person and virtually via the Police Control Room in Jammu, reflects the administration’s commitment to a unified approach. The Jammu and Kashmir Police, led by the DGP, reaffirmed their dedication to curbing infiltration and maintaining law and order.
