Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, May 21, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a crucial meeting with senior officials of the Poonch District Administration and Police at the Poonch Brigade headquarters to review the security situation and relief measures for border residents affected by recent Pakistani shelling. The meeting follows a series of cross-border incidents, including the May 7, 2025, shelling that damaged Gurudwara Nangali Sahib and civilian areas, claiming lives and injuring many.
LG Sinha directed officials to expedite rehabilitation efforts, including the construction of bunkers for border residents’ safety, and emphasized a comprehensive plan to address damages caused by the shelling. He reviewed security arrangements along the Line of Control (LoC), commending the Indian Army and Border Security Force (BSF) for their vigilance. The LG also stressed the need for robust measures to counter misinformation and maintain public order amid heightened tensions post-Operation Sindoor.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, and top police and military personnel. LG Sinha reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, urging unity to counter adversarial attempts to disrupt harmony.
