On the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami, J&K Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone for the Yatri Bhawan, a project envisioned to provide essential amenities such as comfortable lodging and sanitation facilities. With an estimated cost of Rs 3.85 crore, this initiative underscores the UT Administration’s commitment to improving the infrastructure supporting religious tourism. Scheduled for completion within the next eight months, the Yatri Bhawan is set to accommodate up to 1000 pilgrims, addressing the longstanding need for adequate housing during the annual Mela Kheer Bhawani pilgrimage. This year, over 30,000 devotees attended the event, underscoring its significance in the cultural and religious landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including the District Administration, Relief Commissioner’s Office, Police & Security Forces, and local citizens, in ensuring the smooth conduct of the Mela. Their concerted efforts have facilitated the arrival of approximately 200 buses from Jammu, further enhancing accessibility and comfort for pilgrims. During his visit, he engaged with members of the Kashmiri Pandit Community, discussing pertinent issues and reaffirming support for their welfare and cultural heritage preservation. This interaction underscores the administration’s inclusive approach towards fostering communal harmony and supporting diverse cultural practices. The foundation stone laying ceremony for the Yatri Bhawan and the Lieutenant Governor’s visit to Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple reflect a proactive stance by the UT Administration in catering to the spiritual needs of devotees while promoting religious tourism in the region. As these initiatives take shape, they promise to elevate the pilgrimage experience, ensuring that future gatherings at Tulmulla remain occasions of spiritual significance and communal celebration.
