Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha recently attended the Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Aarti at the Shri Raghunath Ji Mandir Chowk in Jammu, where he praised the Shree Raghunath Ji Corridor Vikas Council for bringing this sacred and divine ceremony, previously held at the Ganga Ghats of Varanasi and Haridwar, to Jammu.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that the Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Aarti will be a major attraction for tourists and spiritual seekers, boosting Jammu’s local economy. He further emphasised that Jammu is not just a city of temples but a center of eternal culture, a symbol of faith in Sanatan Sanskriti, and the embodiment of India’s spiritual heritage. He noted that the sanctity of Jammu is deeply connected to the soul of every Indian, making the city a pilgrimage for seekers and the heart of India’s traditional values.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to Jammu’s all-round development, the LG assured that the welfare of its business community, shopkeepers, workers, entrepreneurs, and transporters is a top priority. He pointed to the last five years as a “golden period” for Jammu, with ongoing projects aimed at rejuvenating the city and ensuring the prosperity of its people.
He also detailed the government’s key initiatives, including the beautification of Mubarak Mandi to Raghunath Bazaar Heritage Trail, development of a Spiritual Tourism Circuit, and enhancing facilities at tourist and religious sites across the region.
In light of the growing number of visitors to Raghunath Bazaar, the Lieutenant Governor proposed organising the Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Aarti at the banks of the Tawi River and potentially making it a daily event. He urged the Municipal Commissioner of Jammu to explore options for reserving space at the Tawi Riverfront and Tawi Barrage Project to host regular Aarti ceremonies.
This initiative is expected to bring positive change to Jammu, ushering in joy and prosperity for its citizens.
