Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, May 15, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hailed the Indian Armed Forces for their “historic victory” in Operation Sindoor, a decisive military campaign that avenged the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives. Speaking alongside Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during a visit to the Srinagar Air Base, Sinha praised the forces for dismantling terror bases in Pakistan and delivering “exemplary punishment” to terror planners.
Operation Sindoor, executed between May 7-10, targeted Pakistani airbases and terror camps at Skardu, Sargodha, and Bholari, destroying critical infrastructure and eliminating top terrorists. “Our brave armed forces have changed the course of the fight against terrorism with one focused and measured hit,” Sinha stated, emphasizing that the operation has shifted the paradigm by enabling Indian forces to “hunt terrorists one by one” deep within Pakistan. He asserted that future acts of terror would be treated as acts of war, signaling a bold new stance against cross-border terrorism.
Sinha echoed Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s call for international oversight of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal, stating, “Pakistan’s nuclear blackmail will no longer deter us. Its weapons must be placed under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).” The LG underscored that the world has witnessed Pakistan’s role in engineering terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, and India’s mighty forces have ensured that terror factories are now being systematically destroyed.
The Srinagar Air Base event saw IAF personnel chanting ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, reflecting the high morale of the forces. Sinha also visited the Badami Bagh Cantonment to pay tributes to fallen soldiers, reaffirming the nation’s pride in its armed forces. “Operation Sindoor is a saga of bravery that will inspire generations,” he said, pledging continued support for the military’s efforts to secure the region.
