Srinagar, May 08, 2025: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir , Shri Manoj Sinha, participated in a high-level security meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah via virtual mode. The meeting, held at Raj Bhavan, Srinagar, was attended by key officials, including Chief Secretary Shri Atal Dulloo, DGP J&K Shri Nalin Prabhat, Special Director IB Shri Mahesh Dixit, Principal Secretary Home Shri Chandraker Bharti, and Joint Director IB Shri Pankaj Thakur. The meeting followed the Indian Armed Forces’ Operation Sindoor, a decisive strike targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha affirmed that the directives issued by the Home Minister would be implemented meticulously. He issued instructions to officials to neutralize potential threats promptly and praised Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his resolute leadership in maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism. The Lieutenant Governor is actively monitoring the security situation in J&K, conducting regular reviews, and leading coordinated actions in border villages and other sensitive areas.
Sinha lauded the tri-services for executing 24 precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and PoJK under Operation Sindoor. The operation, a retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, obliterated training camps of terrorist groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. “Operation Sindoor is an incredible example of the resolve of our brave armed forces. It sends a clear message: no matter where terrorists hide, they will be found and punished,” Sinha stated.
The Lieutenant Governor also reviewed the situation in J&K’s border districts with senior administrative and police officials, including Deputy Commissioners. He directed the relocation of villagers from vulnerable areas to safer locations, ensuring provisions for boarding, lodging, food, medicare, and transportation. Sinha emphasized the administration’s preparedness, stating, “The entire administration, J&K Police, CAPFs, and Armed Forces are working in unison. We are alert, equipped, and ready to respond to any situation.”
The government remains committed to ensuring the safety of citizens and countering terrorism with unwavering resolve.
