SRINAGAR, AUGUST 23: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today interacted with members of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Srinagar.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the efforts of ICC in promoting the interests of trade, commerce, and industry in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the ICC members’ meeting in Srinagar will serve as a strong platform for networking and collaboration for local businesses.
“India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. For us, relationships are not transactional. They are based on compassion and brotherhood. Our cultural heritage and traditional values have made our economy resilient and established India as a great and powerful nation,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He added that by holding the meeting in Srinagar, ICC has assured the industrial ecosystem that no terrorist force can subdue India. He said the event is a powerful statement against the enemies of the nation and will inspire industries in J\&K to aim for greater goals.
The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted investment opportunities, prevailing peace, and the economic transformation of Jammu and Kashmir in recent years. “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, J\&K is witnessing an industrial revolution and has emerged as an attractive investment destination. We have achieved milestones in road, air, and rail connectivity, extending industrial growth to every corner of J\&K,” he said.
He lauded ICC’s role in policy advocacy, global partnerships, and creating a business-friendly environment to boost India’s competitiveness. He stressed that ICC is a key pillar in India’s transformative journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
The Lieutenant Governor thanked business leaders and stakeholders for their contribution to attracting domestic and foreign investment, assuring full government support for profitable ventures in J\&K.
