He extended heartfelt congratulations to the school’s management, teachers, and students, recognising their dedication and achievements. The Lieutenant Governor expressed his best wishes for their continued success, acknowledging the significant role educational institutions play in shaping the future of individuals and society.
In his speech, he urged the students to “Dream Big!” and emphasised the importance of self-belief, hard work, focus, and persistence in realising their goals. He expressed admiration for the energy, innovation, and commitment of young people, acknowledging that today’s youth are at the forefront of change. “I have always admired the energy, innovation, and commitment of young people. Today, our youth are at the forefront of change,” he remarked, underscoring the critical role that youth play in shaping the future. His words served as a powerful reminder to students that their dreams are achievable with the right attitude, discipline, and persistence.
He also addressed the challenges facing the nation, noting that while the youth aspire for a fear-free, corruption-free, and development-oriented society, there are still forces attempting to destabilise the nation. He called for unity and collective action from both the youth and society at large to overcome these challenges. “We must stand together and protect the values that keep our nation strong,” he said. His message underscored the importance of resilience and unity in the face of adversity, urging the young generation to rise above challenges and contribute to the country’s progress.
He also emphasised the importance of reclaiming India’s position as a global leader in education, drawing inspiration from historical centres of learning such as Nalanda, Takshashila, and Vikramshila. “You are the successors of those who established great educational institutions. It’s time to continue that legacy and make India the Vishwa Guru once again,” he asserted, calling upon the youth to reignite the nation’s historic legacy in education. His call to action was rooted in the belief that the youth of today can restore India’s status as a global hub of knowledge and intellectual exchange, a vision that is crucial for the nation’s future growth and development.
Reflecting on the transformation of the educational landscape in Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Lieutenant Governor urged teachers to embrace innovation in their teaching methods. He highlighted the need for educators to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of students, emphasising that education must go beyond the mere transmission of information. “Education is not just about delivering information; it’s about fostering curiosity, creativity, and imagination. We must create an environment where lifelong learning and problem-solving skills thrive,” he said. His words resonated with the broader call for a paradigm shift in education that nurtures critical thinking, creativity, and adaptability among students—skills essential for thriving in the modern world.
He also spoke about the need to balance scientific knowledge with values. While technical and scientific education is crucial, he stressed that the focus should also be on instilling values that foster innovation, social responsibility, and personal growth. “Along with core subjects, our focus should be on value-based education that nurtures new ideas, innovations, and the individuality of students,” he emphasised. This balanced approach to education, he explained, is vital in developing well-rounded individuals who are not only equipped with academic knowledge but also with the ethical foundation needed to navigate the complexities of life.
In his concluding remarks, the Lieutenant Governor felicitated the meritorious students of KC International School, praising them for their exceptional achievements. He commended the school for its significant contribution to the development of knowledge and human capital in the region. He expressed his hope that KC International School would continue to inspire future generations, encouraging them to aim higher and reach their full potential. The Lieutenant Governor’s words underscored the critical role of education in shaping a prosperous, just, and forward-thinking society, emphasising the need for students to contribute not just to their own success but to the betterment of society as a whole.
