Kashmir, October 17,2025:Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha arrived in Elista, Kalmykia, as the head of an Indian delegation to pay homage to the sacred relics of Lord Buddha. The visit comes in line with India’s commitment to promoting Buddhist heritage and cultural diplomacy.
During the visit, LG Manoj Sinha will take an audience with Governor of the Republic of Kalmykia Mr. Batu Sergeyevich Khasikov, Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, sacred monks, and local pilgrims with focus on peace, spirituality, and cultural connection among nations.
The officials recalled that the visit of the delegation is to further strengthen people-to-people relations, maintain sacred relics, and promote mutual respect between Kalmykia and India to commemorate Lord Buddha’s universal teachings.
