J&K LG Manoj Sinha highlights knowledge revolution at Mahavir International School’s annual function

Jammu, December 8: Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha delivered an inspiring address at the 18th Annual Function of Mahavir (MV) International School, held at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. In his speech, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated the school administration, faculty, and students for their achievements and commended the school for its role in nurturing academic excellence.

Shri Sinha highlighted the importance of a Knowledge Revolution in propelling India toward becoming a developed nation, stressing its role in sustaining growth across various sectors of the economy. He further emphasized the crucial need for transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a hub of innovative education, where schools are developed as centers of excellence. “In J&K, capacity building and creating a dynamic, competitive learning environment have been among my key objectives,” said the Lieutenant Governor. “We aim to harness the innovative ideas of our students to drive this change.”

The Lieutenant Governor also focused on the pivotal role of teachers in unlocking the inherent potential of students. He advocated for a shift in the approach to education, emphasizing that learning should go beyond tests and assessments. “Learning must be rooted in understanding, with a proper awakening to moral values and the practical aspects of life,” he said.

In his address, Shri Sinha underlined the importance of empowering teachers, stating, “Unless teachers are empowered, students will not be empowered; and unless students are empowered, the nation cannot be strong.” He urged educational institutions to create a holistic ecosystem where teachers are not limited to the curriculum but are encouraged to share their experiences and wisdom, thereby enriching students’ lives.

On the topic of technology in education, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI). While acknowledging AI’s potential to enhance teacher-student engagement, he emphasized that AI should be seen as a supportive tool rather than a complete replacement for teachers. “Our future strategy should be to have Artificial Intelligence-supported classrooms, not Artificial Intelligence-led classrooms,” he stated.

Shri Sinha also praised the educational reforms introduced under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, noting that India is witnessing an educational revolution that is transforming the learning landscape nationwide.

During the event, the Lieutenant Governor felicitated outstanding students who excelled in academics and other fields, presenting them with awards for their achievements. He also released a poster of the Bhajan Video, titled “Garud Vahini Vaishnavi,” created by the students of Mahavir International School.
