In a campaign against drugs in Jammu & Kashmir, a Marathon race was organised in 100 spots. The Marathon was organised on the occasion of the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat programme of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi who dedicated the episode to 140 crore Indians. The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha said that he was happy that the people and youth of Kashmir are standing up against drugs. The Hindustan Scouts & Guides also started an awareness campaign against drugs which is commendable, remarked LG. Today’s collective effort can bring a positive change in the Union Territory. We are all aware that our neighbouring country has been shedding the blood of many innocent citizens through terrorism for years. They are targeting our youth power through narco terrorism. There is an international conspiracy being hatched to involve our youth in the quagmire of drugs, LG said. I think that today every youth of Jammu and Kashmir has a strong desire to improve the society and the nation. I would request all of you to actively participate in the process of social and economic change. Today, the energy and enthusiasm of the youth instils a new confidence in the future of Jammu and Kashmir. I urge all of you to definitely remember those words of respected Bapu ‘we have to be the change we want to see’, LG said. If we are participating in the marathon against drugs, then I think that we ourselves should stay away from drugs, then we will be able to inspire others. I hope that today’s marathon will prove to be a milestone in achieving the goal of drug-free Jammu and Kashmir, said the Lieutenant Governor.
