Kashmir, January 14,2026-Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. In his message, the Lieutenant Governor expressed hope that the festival would usher in renewed energy, positivity, and enthusiasm in everyone’s lives.
He said that Makar Sankranti, which marks the transition of the Sun into Makara (Capricorn), symbolizes new beginnings and the spirit of harmony. The Lieutenant Governor prayed that the festival would bring happiness, prosperity, and overall well-being to all sections of society.
“May this sacred occasion inspire us to move forward with optimism and collective strength,” he said, while wishing good health and continued happiness to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The festival is celebrated across the country with traditional fervour and holds special cultural and spiritual significance, marking the end of winter and the onset of longer days.
