Jammu, January 12,2026:Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, on Sunday extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people on the auspicious occasions of Lohri and Makar Sankranti, celebrated on January 13 and January 14 respectively.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed his hopes for peace, prosperity, and well-being for all. He said that these festivals symbolise happiness, new beginnings, and the spirit of togetherness.
“On the auspicious occasion of Lohri and Makar Sankranti, I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all and wish them health, bliss, and prosperity. I pray that this festive season and the year ahead bring peace and joy and inspire us to work collectively for the progress and well-being of all,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Highlighting the significance of the festivals, Shri Manoj Sinha noted that Lohri and Makar Sankranti celebrate the joy of a new harvest, honor the tireless efforts of farmers, and acknowledge the generosity of nature. He expressed hope that these festivals would usher in renewed prosperity, growth, and progress for the nation.
